A strategic leader and entrepreneur, Ziyad has more than twenty years of wide-ranging experience in the real estate industry, encompassing advisory services, asset & property management, development, & investment.
In 2005 Ziyad established POLARIS DEVELOPMENT in Miami, Florida, with the objective of providing non-U.S. investors access to the vast & attractive opportunities of the U.S. commercial real estate market, without their need to establish any operational presence in the U.S.
The unique value proposition of POLARIS is based on Ziyad's extensive relations with two groups:
- Non-U.S. investors (corporate, family office, and high-net-worth individuals) in Europe and the Arabian Gulf
- Selected national and regional U.S. operators in the Multifamily and Student Housing sectors.
Based on Ziyad's expertise in these specific sectors, POLARIS is able to form partnerships between the above two groups, and subsequently identify & invest in lucrative projects in these U.S. sectors. The non-U.S. investors gain access to investment opportunities that are not available to the general investing public, and the U.S. operators gain access to a reliable source of capital that is not readily available in the country.
Ziyad's education and early career were in architecture; he apprenticed in Miami and New York with the world-renowned firm ARQUITECTONICA. Afterwards, he joined the multi-national design firm SAUD CONSULT and worked on major institutional projects from offices in Dublin, Jeddah, London, Istanbul, Madrid, & Riyadh.
Joining the Athens, Greece-based THE OLAYAN GROUP - one of the world's largest privately-held business groups, Ziyad asset managed a multi-million dollar, 18-property, multi-city commercial real estate portfolio in Saudi Arabia.
Subsequently, and backed by four prominent local business groups in Saudi Arabia, Ziyad established a residential development company - MASAKEN, whose exceptional development products quickly achieved high brand recognition in the local community.
Ziyad earned architecture degrees from the University of Miami & Columbia University. He is active in several real estate professional organizations, was a Certified Property Manager (CPM) & Florida Real Estate Licensee.
Eldon possesses unique insight in Multifamily (MF) operations, which he acquired over a 30-year span of managing and asset managing MF communities. Starting in Property Management in 1983 as an on-site property manager, Eldon evolved to directing the operations of multi-state portfolios; he has managed and directed the operations of over 30,000 apartments in 14 states throughout the eastern half of the U.S.
As the director of Asset Management at Polaris since 2015, Eldon deploys his extensive experience and unique insight to oversee the operations of the MF communities that Polaris asset manages on behalf of its investors. As such, he ensures that Polaris' asset-managed communities remain on their targeted trajectories and directs them to maximize their returns to investors.
Because of Eldon's extensive track record in property management, in the last few years Eldon was tapped by Florida's Valencia College to establish a Residential Property Management curriculum, which he has developed and has been chairing, and in which he's active in a teaching capacity.
Eldon has held his Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation since 1990; this is the highest professional credential in the property management industry, and it is granted by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), where Eldon serves on the national advisory board.
Eldon earned an MBA from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1998.
Michael E. Roman
Prior to Michael joining Polaris in 2018 as a Senior Analyst, he had worked in the underwriting and financing of over $1.0 billion of investment and development projects across the U.S., including multifamily, condo, hotel, and commercial projects.
Michael had worked for Turnberry Associates, one of South Florida's oldest and largest owners and developers of real estate, whose portfolio includes the world-famous Fontainebleau Hotel and Aventura Mall.
Prior to Turnberry, Michael was at Fifteen Group, another prominent Miami-based real estate investment and development firm.
Michael has a B.S./B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Miami.
